Why skirting matters with SPC
All floating floors move slightly with temperature and need an expansion gap at the walls. Skirting covers that gap and protects the wall from mops and vacuum cleaners. BestFloor's calculator rates include skirting, so it should appear in every quote.

How to choose the height
- Apartments, standard ceilings: 90 to 100 mm looks tidy.
- Villas with high ceilings: 120 to 150 mm keeps proportions.
- Old skirting left in place? A deeper profile can cover more of the old line; check on site.
White or matched?
White skirting with white walls looks calm and suits almost any floor tone; the Aura Gardens villa used white skirting, also on the stairs. Matched or coloured skirting is available on request.
