Frequently asked questions
Can I put SPC flooring over tiles in my villa?
Yes, if the tiles are sound, level within about 2 to 3 mm over 2 m, and dry. Loose or hollow areas need fixing first.
How much height does it add?
Roughly the plank thickness: 5 mm or 6.5 mm in BestFloor's range. Doors and fittings are measured before installation.
Will my doors still close?
Doors that would rub are trimmed on installation day. Transition profiles finish edges at bathrooms and balconies.
What about hollow tiles?
Single loose tiles are fixed. If large areas sound hollow, the tiles should come out first.
Are stairs included?
Stairs can be clad in matching SPC. BestFloor prices stairs individually after a site visit.
How long does a villa take?
About 2 to 3 days for around 200 m², once the subfloor is ready. The 220 m² Aura Gardens villa took 2 to 3 days.
Do I still need an NOC?
Usually yes or at least community approval. Even a floating floor is often treated as renovation work.
Should bathrooms be covered too?
No. In the Aura Gardens villa bathrooms stayed tiled, and BestFloor does not install SPC in showers or wet rooms with floor drains.
