Checklist before the rain
Only go on the roof in dry weather and with safe access.
- Drains and gullies: free of sand and leaves, grating sits properly, no gap to the screed, no lip holding a puddle.
- AC stands: on a sealed base, bolts sealed, condensate not draining onto a joint.
- Parapets: waterproofing taken up the upstand, no damp patches or rust streaks inside.
- Penetrations: sealed with a proper collar, not loose tape; later drill holes sealed.
- Standing water: no puddles still there a day after rain; falls towards the drains.
- From inside: new brown or yellow rings on ceilings, musty smell, bubbling paint; photograph with the date.

Reading the warranty
